An innovative environment supports strengths-based teaching and learning. It offers our students and teachers flexibility, agency, ubiquity, and connectedness.
Over generations, our Newington family has helped to maintain the beauty and historical integrity of the Founders Building, Wyvern, the Edmund Webb Boarding House, the Lindfield campus, the Robert Glasson Memorial Boatshed at Abbotsford, and the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of the College's grounds for the benefit of Newington students.
As we continue our growth as a school of choice for more families, in 2024 your gifts enabled the Foundation to grant $750,000 for projects that accelerate the provision of excellent learning and play environments for Newington students at all campuses.
On the Stanmore Senior campus, the Foundation's support enabled the conversion of a former general learning area into a purpose-built teaching and learning kitchen and was completed in advance of Term 1, 2025. This is an important facility as it will support Year 7 & 8 students to develop an increased knowledge and understanding of food - including processing and preparation - as they continue to live and learn life skills as part of the NSW curriculum. Further, the skills developed in these years will prepare them for their Year 9 experience at the College’s Eungai Creek Campus.
Other projects funded by the Foundation in 2024 included:
- Wyvern House Covered Outdoor Learning Area
- Aquatics Centre to enhance player development opportunities and the experience for spectators
- Eungai Creek campus through the development of a permanent dining hall.
- Wyvern House Covered Outdoor Learning Area, with the support of Wyvern P&F
- Robert Glasson Memorial Boatshed kitchen and communal space upgrade
- Lindfield playground upgrade
