Throughout my time in the College, I have been blessed by many opportunities and experiences that would have been entirely missed had I not been brought into Newington College. My inclusion in the College family, however, was only made possible by your incredible generosity and support for my schooling.
In the classroom, the learning environment was like nothing I had ever experienced.
Rather than having to rely on myself or one friend to pushing me to excel, all students were interested, focused, and motivated in class. It was an environment which drove me to strive for academic success. As a result, I saw great boosts, with teachers supporting and putting faith in me I excelled academically. Without your support behind me this would have never been made possible.
Newington also blessed me with a family and a culture that assists with any needs or problems of the members of our community. Through your generosity, I was able to integrate myself into a new group, a home away from home, which now consists of my best mates. If not for my inclusion in College life, I would still be struggling, wasting away without the faith of teachers, friends and all of you. I will be forever grateful for your faith in me and your generosity in support of the College.
On the field, your generosity has allowed me to excel and promote myself on a stage I could never have imagined. You have accelerated my ability, giving me access to a strong culture, coaching group, and family within the rugby program. These elements have allowed me to make many sides at the representative level. My rugby journey may have ended a long time ago if it wasn't for your support.
My highlights have included selection in NSW sides, being lucky enough to captain that team this year, captaining the 1st XV, and selection in the U18 Australian side. These achievements were only possible due to the gift of a Mulford Scholarship, catalysed by your generosity and support to assist in my induction and remaining at the College.
My character and achievements have been developed ten-fold in my time at Newington, and it is your support and backing that helped me to succeed. I am forever grateful for everything you have done for me.
