All grandparents, parents and friends of Newington are warmly invited to join one of the warmest and most joyful initiatives in our community.
Renew and Create is a relaxed, welcoming crafting gathering for New Grandies, parents and friends of Newington. The Wyvern library is the meeting place for tea, scones, good conversation and crafting. Launched in 2025 as a small idea of the Newington Foundation and the Newington P&F Stanmore, it quickly grew into its own stall at Back to Newington Day (BTND). But more importantly friendships were formed, stories were shared and creativity was rediscovered.
This is an opportunity for all members of our Newington family - especially if you have some free time - to get creative and support Back to Newington Day.
- You do not need to be “crafty”
- You do not need experience
- If you can use a pair of scissors, you can join us
Together we:
- Knit and crochet toys
- Hand-stitch keepsakes
- Transform second-hand uniforms into tote bags, pencil cases and treasures
All items are handmade with care and sold at Back to Newington Day benefiting our students, via the Newington P&F Stanmore.

Come once or come regularly. You will be warmly welcomed. Craft projects, materials, tea and scones are all provided.
