For generations, Newington has upheld its founding value of diversity. Scholarships are a cornerstone of this commitment, providing opportunities for students who might otherwise be unable to attend the College. By 2040, our goal is to provide 100 students of potential with the opportunity of a Newington education. Every gift is tax-deductible and endowed, ensuring that your generosity creates a lasting impact for generations to come. And we are well on that way to achieving this goal.
In 2025, the Newington Foundation granted $1.4 million to support scholarships that celebrate our diverse school community. This investment reflects the shared commitment of the Foundation and the College—providing direct tuition relief for more than 70 students—to protect and strengthen our diversity and ensure access to a Newington education for those who might otherwise miss the opportunity.
Endowed Scholarships and Legacy Giving
Many of our benefactors choose to honour family members or pay tribute to loved ones via endowed scholarships. Endowed gifts remain intact, with investment earnings funding scholarships in perpetuity. This approach guarantees that your support continues to transform lives long into the future.

- Chris Wild (ON 1991) Indigenous Scholarship – Honouring our community’s commitment to reconciliation by creating opportunities for Indigenous students.
- The Mulford Scholarship – Celebrating former Headmaster Dr David Mulford, whose leadership championed diversity at Newington.
- Pioneer Scholarships – Opening doors for girls and boys as Newington embraces co-education from 2026.
