On Saturday, 22 November, we celebrated the official opening of the Newington Foundation Dining Hall at our Eungai Creek campus—a project made possible through the extraordinary generosity of our donor community. With $3.6 million granted, this state-of-the-art facility stands as a powerful testament to philanthropy and shared vision.
A Space for Connection and Growth
More than a building, the new dining hall and its purpose-built kitchen form a vibrant hub where students, staff, and visitors gather to share meals, ideas, and experiences. Designed to foster community and wellbeing, the space reflects Newington’s commitment to exceptional environments for learning and living.
The opening ceremony featured a Welcome to Country by Aunty Vicky, acknowledgements from the Mayor of Nambucca Shire, a blessing by the Moderator of The Uniting Church in Australia (NSW/ACT), and a student-led service highlighting the College’s commitment to service-learning. Led by Council Chair Tony McDonald (ON 1976), Headmaster Michael Parker, and Campus Director Mark Morrison OAM, the event was a true celebration of community.
But it was students Toby and Nilan who captured hearts with reflections on life without mobile devices!—embracing personal growth, resilience, and service to others.
Celebrating Our Donors
This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our donors. Your generosity has turned vision into reality, creating a space that will serve generations of Newington students. Every gift, large or small, has played a vital role in shaping this achievement.
Looking Ahead
The Dining Hall marks a significant chapter in the development of Eungai Creek campus. It enhances the student experience and strengthens our ability to deliver programs that nurture leadership, resilience, and community spirit.
From all of us at Newington Foundation, thank you for your generosity and belief in our mission. Together, we are building spaces that inspire and empower.
