YOUR SUPPORT = GIVING DAY GOAL ACHIEVED = INCREASED DIVERSITY!
Newington's third Giving Day held on Wednesday, 17 September, was a resounding success with thanks to current and past parents, Old Newingtonians, students, staff, grandparents, and friends who helped to Give the Gift of Opportunity.
Our incredibly generous community came together to show their support and exceeded our goal of $333,000 to help provide means-tested scholarships that can make a real difference in the lives of future Newingtonians. Every tax-deductible gift received was tripled, due to the outstanding support of our Matching Givers – the Stanmore P&F, the ONU, Old Newingtonians, parents, and grandparents who share your belief in and love of Newington.
One of the goals of the Newington Foundation is to fund means-tested scholarships for 100 children by 2040. The efforts of our community, now spanning three Giving Days, mean that we have moved $1,000,000 closer to achieving that goal, but we also acknowledge that our work is incomplete. Your gifts now and in the years ahead will provide more children with access to everything that an education at Newington College has to offer.
“Thank you” does not seem to be enough to show our gratitude. Your support of our means-tested scholarships on Giving Day has ensured that Newington remains a diverse school. You have helped to create a bright future for generations of students. We look forward to keeping you informed on our progress and showing you how your contribution has made a difference in the lives of Newington students.
